Is there still any truth to this ranking list?

This blog ranked the 10 easiest US dental schools to get into, but seeing as how this list was created in 2008, I'm not sure if it's anywhere near accurate anymore.

It lists UOP as the 8th easiest, and I would really like to go to UOP, but I hear from some people that it's one of the "not as tough" dental schools to get into and I hear from others that it is one of the toughest. I looked at the GPA and DAT ranking lists to try and figure out chances, but there are just so many variables to that list that it makes it hard to get a true sense, (i.e. In theory, it seems that Howard is the easiest school to get into if you just look at GPA, but then you have to factor in that they gear towards URM).

Any insight on this?

I wrote this in another thread that showed the same link...

Did you read the part that said "...FOR INTERNATIONAL DENTISTS"... aka people who are dentists from other counties but wanna work as dentists in the USA so they need to re-evaluate their dental education by entering into an international program

There really is no ranking. You can have great stats and still not get into a school.

There are two lists, one for international students and one for US students. This one is for US students.

I think this might be the one that you're talking about for international students.

There is no evidence to support such claims (especially) from first link... Its just a blog, someone's opinion on an "easy" dental school.

Like Maygyver suggested, this is no rank, NYU (supposedly the easiest DS) still rejects some high quality applicants, they get like 5500+ applications per year.

I will agree with #'s 1-7 for one reason or another (not in that order though). UOP does not belong there, period. Howard is going to be an uphill battle unless you're a URM. No clue about Case.

I just saw UOP in that list... no way no way no way... if anything, thats one of the harder DS to land... Its even suggested that if your DAT isn't AT LEAST a 20, don't bother with it.

 I like how you have that image handy.

I think Midwestern has to be on that list.

Nope. This list was dreamed up by a few fraternity brothers and unceremoniously dumped on the internet. Zero methodology and zero real world application. It's equally as true as if you or I posted a list of our 'top ten schools', and had the audacity to present it as official in any way, shape or form.
