235 on step 1 and taking step 2 in October.
From a state school in the midsouth (ranks about 60).
My school still uses letter grades and the GPA system (problly gave away my school) and I have a 3.69 (mostly As, a few Bs, I did receive a B for my internal medicine rotation due to personal/family issues).
Not AOA.
Some research experience (NIH summer program, research elective, one publication in a small journal on neuroscience)
I'd like to believe that my letters of recommendation are good since I know the letter writers pretty well

As you can see I really don't have a geographical preference and really just want to match at an academic institute where I can continue doing some research and have a better chance of landing a fellowship.

I tried to keep the list realistic and stayed off programs like hopkins, UCSF, BIDMC, MGH, BWH..etc. But how realistic is my current list given my stats?

My feelings won't be hurt and I'd like some honest opinions. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!😀

I'll actually deliver some useful advice here.

Your list looks good. You have a reasonable balance of reach, match, and safety programs.

You should have posted this under the appropriate stickied post, however.

I will advice you to do like I did and apply every program in the whole country, and then look at which ones offer you interviews in the aftermath. You will be a rich doctor one day and with that comes the abiility to pay the epic credit card bill that my advice will yield.

Pretty good overall list, but with a few solid programs not included. Some notable programs that I think you should consider applying to are (not listed in your list):
UAB-Birmingham
Iowa-Iowa City
VCU-Richmond
MUSC-Charleston
Utah-Salt Lake City
Louisville
Cincinnati

Any idea what fellowship you are interested in?

Good luck

Cardiology. I did a few electives in it now that I'm a 4th year and I'm loving it. My top choice for residency would be Emory and did an away rotation there. Hopefully can match.

Thanks for the additional schools! Will apply to them as well.

Seems like having a targeted list would be better.

I think I did apply all over the country minus the community programs lol.
