Ok so I want to get you guys opinion on this idea.

Is it a smart move to just skip the biology section at first and do it last?

The reason I ask this is because it seems like the biology section can really mess with you. If you ge a handful of questions at the beginning you do not know, you may start freaking out a little. I thought it might be best to skip this section and move to gen chem and orgo to kinda get into the groove of things, since those 2 subjects are more limited in variations than biology.

What do you guys think?

Doing the portion of the test that you are more confident with first has advantages to keeping your spirits up but do mind that taking time navigating the test as opposed to doing the test is a disadvantage

dont do it! read this guys breakdown he just did the same thing and failed miserably http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=843546

bio is easy to knock out first, then maybe jump to OC? but then again I think it makes sense to do it in order because bio is quick, gchem takes the longest, and o chem is easy to go through fast. if you leave gchem for last that could be the biggest mistake!

i think doing it in order is fine, its not like ull sit there for 5 minutes on one bio Q. so you'll spend 20 to 30 more seconds n then ull move on, I cant see myself staring at bio for long unless its to review it at the end of the test when I marked that question and am between 2 choices.

just my thoughts.

no because you would be wasting time click through 40 questions.

there's no skip to question 41 deal until the end.

Bio is an either you know it or don't type of deal. you might get a few questions that you can reason it out but you can easily get through the 40 questions in 15-20 minutes and give time for you chem and ochem.

so read bio question, if you know answer it obviously if you have to think long a hard or don't know mark it and move on.

In my experience you should end up with spare time go back as long as you don't sit and stare at a question the 1st time through. even when going back you should hae the same attitude, while you do give yourself little bit more time than 1st time around you don't want to sit there unless its the last question and you double checked all your other questions.

I agree with the above. Personally I had about 20 minutes left to check everything and then check the marked half way through. I knew from the beginning that chem would take me most time (experience from the grueling Achiever tests) so I finished Bio in less than 30 minutes and OC less than 20 minutes (OC is my strong point). Just go through Bio quickly and mark anything you feel uncertain. GC and OC are more straightforward and will reward you at the end.

NO. Don't skip it. What everyone is saying is good advice. Just mark mark mark and save the extra bit of time to go back to them. Don't let it freak you out. Just be mentally prepared for the worst.

Is this true for every section? I was planning to use the "Review All" option in the PAT section to skip Angles and save them for the end (like you can do in Crack DAT).

check out the screens. its the same for every section.

I realize they show a "review" button during a question(to allow you to jump to end) but I honestly do no remember seeing it on the 1st run through. It may appear as an option only after going through all the question. You might have to ask someone who just took it today or who will be taking in tomorrow try and remember if they see it right @ start.

I personally only remember the options of Previous, Next, Mark/Unmark.

the review button came up when I was doing my reviews of questions I know that for sure. But I usually hit review mark so not sure if its comes up as a function of pushing that button or what triggers it.

review is only available at the end. going to the next question is a slow process so i wouldnt recommend skipping sections

This is a bad idea. The most time that could be saved is during the Bio section. It's either you know it or you don't. If you do, then you can answer the question in 5-10 seconds. If you don't, then you can answer the question in 20-30. Thus, it's better to get ahead on the time which you'll need for GC calculations.

I would rather run out of time and rush through the last few questions in OC than having to rush thru all 40 questions in bio. Talk about the "time is running out" stress in the back of your mind for all 40 questions.

Yea I was just really nervous about the test today...Biology concerned me the most. I ended up not skipping the section..

Thanks for yalls advice!
