Hi, this is the first time posting.
I'm a senior in college and would like to apply for 2019 cycle.
I did hospital volunteer (transporting patients) for about 110 hours from sophomore
to junior years. Things came up and I couldn't continue after that.
1. Would it be box checking if I get back now and continue until I apply in June?
Meanwhile, I started volunteering and have been continuing at senior house (visiting and helping them for feeding) when I stopped hospital last winter.
2. Does volunteering at senior home count as clinical experience like hospital volunteer?
Thanks for your advise and opinions.

I volunteered at a nursing home and did not count it as clinical. I viewed they as residents not patients. I wouldn’t consider it box checking but I would look for diverse experiences for a diverse application. Make sure you have good clinical/non clinical/underserved service

1) Returning to a previous venue where you already had a goodly number of hours will not look like box checking.

2) Is this a retirement home, active senior community, assisted living center, nursing home, or skilled-level nursing home? Are nurses on the premises? Do doctors visit occasionally? Are the people living there residents, clients, or patients? Whether adcomms would look at your "senior house" experience as clinical or not depends on these answers.

You should go back to your patient transport and get some more hours. But don’t stop when you apply unless you have another clinical thing to move into. You should always plan to keep improving your application until you have an acceptance in hand. If you have to reapply you’ll need to show significant improvement in your application. It sounds like the senior Hoyse is more nonclinical but only you know based on @Catalystik ’s questions. But you do need nonclinical volunteering too. So your time won’t be wasted either way. How is your shadowing going?

After reading your posts, I realized my senior volunteer is non clinical.
Thank you for your advices and opinions.
