A girl I've chatted with in an online forum is claiming that she is started med school this spring. Are there any med schools that start in the spring or is this chick lying through her teeth?

Some medical technician students refer to school as 'medical school'. Perhaps she has started one of these programs.

The caribbean schools I believe have a tri-semester thing where you can start anytime during those points.

The funniest lie that I had heard was from one of my friend's friend. I didn't know her personally so maybe that's why she lied. She claimed to have started off going to a community college and then went to medical school (after completing 2 years there). A bit skeptical, I probed more about her medical school career. She claimed that she quit after 1 year because she was acing all 7 of her classes and she didnt find it challenging enough. She instead decided to go to law school. Something smelled funny so I asked her how she did on the MCATs. A few minutes of long pause and she replied with "28.3". The dumb girl must have searched online for acceptance grades and came back with an average MCAT score. So i called her out on it and she got all quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed catching her in that lie.

Obviously, she is lying. Ask her when she interviewed, when she was accepted, where she was accepted, and why she is the only "med student" in the country to skip her entire first semester of classes.

Umm...I did say "chat" but I also said forum. What web address did you all use to get here? Oh yeah: forums.studentdoctor.net. (or beta.studentdoctor.net if you read the post at the top!)

Definition of chat: to talk in an informal or familiar manner. Yes, I would say our conversation was informal, as I did not interrogate her as to the discrepancy in her story.

Shoot there's an SDN chatroom that usually has a couple of people in it and at times gets down right crowded.
The age range in there is between 18 and 30 something. 🙄

she's probably lying.. BUT... UMKC does take students into their medical school in the spring semester (Jan 1st) for people that werent part of the 6 year program.

Hi I know most med schools in Canada start in September, which I suppose is considered fall right.... some schools here start in Sept too... I think I've heard of a few.... so she could totally be telling the truth.

As for that guy who caught that girl in her 28.3 lie.... man I feel sorry for her, if it was me, I wouldn't have called her on it, I would have just let it go... it's kind of sad when people have to do things like that JUST to impress others.

what age people do use chatrooms. i know some college aged and older people who do...not me, but i hear them talking about it all the time. Don't people use the chatroom on sdn also? I never have but i know i've seen in the lounge people asking others to go chat.
