Medical schools list under their requirements that they need certain pre-requisite courses to be completed so that they know that a candidate is ready for medical school.
Do we even need a bachelor's degree? Is it possible to technically finish all pre-reqs within two years and apply to med school after second year of UG without completing any degree? It would be kind of like a 6 year accelerated program I guess...has this ever been done before and if so, what are the pros/cons, chances of something like this actually happening?
You haven't discovered some magic time saving way of getting into medical school. Imagine if you never got in... what would you do with 3/4 of a degree?
This is possible. You don't need a Bachelor's to apply to medical school. I had a classmate who applied and got in after 2 years of college, though I have no idea how feasible it actually is to do. I'd imagine that you would have to be a stellar candidate otherwise and that you need to be able to demonstrate your maturity.
Assuming the school agreed that it was ok for you not to finish your degree. The bottom line is by going that route you are knocking out a ton of great medical schools from your application pool.Hmm...but even if I did apply now (starting May 1st) and if by some miracle, was accepted, that would still mean that I would be starting med school NEXT August right?
