Yes, the 20-hour experience counts as physician shadowing and the other healthcare-profession shadowing would be clinical observation. The program coordinator is fine to use as a Contact for as many of those experiences as you care to list.Hi, this summer, I did an internship at a hospital in my town. It allowed us to shadow many healthcare professions across various specialties. I wasn't with an MD the whole time, but for one of my rotations, I was with one the entire time ( ~20 hrs). When I fill out my AMCAS, can I put this as shadowing and list the internship coordinator as the contact? I've already began to do shadowing on my own, but was wondering if this counted.
Keep in mind though that due to space limitations (most list all their shadowing in one slot), and the additional physician shadowing you have plans for, you may find it best to limit your list to physicians only, so you have some space for description.
