Hi,

My fiancé and I will be moving out for the first time. We've been living with my parents for the last 8 months.

I thought about staying at home while in dental school, but my fiancé was getting tired of living with others.

We are looking at a 1b/1b, at $777, without utilities. He can afford to pay it, but it will be tight with the utilities + living expenses. He does not want me to take additional loans. Only pay the tuition.

How much is everyone looking to pay or is already paying?

Thanks!!

I'm living with several classmates at an "above" average 3bd/2bath that is 7-10 minutes away from campus. My portion is ~700/month without utilities, however everything including tuition is paid in full by my parents. The rent costs is all relative to location, especially in New York and California.

I would keep your loans to a minimum, they already started to accrue interest.

I live in downtown SF. My rent is 2700.
777 bucks seems free by comparison. You're going to be a dentist. You'll make enough money. Take out the measly couple thousand extra you need to cover the rent. You won't regret doing that. But you will absolutely regret not having the freedom of your own place that you and your SO dream about.

Thanks! We decided to go for it, and we've been living alone for 2 weeks now. It's heaven. 🙂
