Is this worth it as an update (2019-2020 cycle)?

So I'm taking two gap years off; I am currently in my second one. For schools that asked what I plan on doing in my gap year, I said I was going to continue to research. However, I realized that I would need flexibility during interview months, so I decided to take a position more short-term where I run/help manage a couple of food pantries (20 hrs/week max probably) in supplement to the volunteer activities that currently take up my time. Is this a big enough thing that I should make it an update on my applications, or is it something I should just bring up during interviews?

This probably isn't even worth bringing up in interviews. We know life happens after you submit.
