I've been looking at various schools' threads and it seems like a lot of schools have not begun waitlist movement yet despite releasing their first wave of WL acceptances within the first week of May in previous years. For example, one school started waitlist movement in the first 2-4 days after April 30th for the past 4 years, but this year it's radio silence.
I'm wondering if this year is indeed an anomaly and whether there is a reason for the delay across seemingly multiple schools. Or is it actually a completely normal year and the apparent delay is nothing but anecdotal evidence? Trying to assess what could be happening and why.
