Who feels like their school is preparing them adequately for the boards? (ie-board style examinations, high-yield courses).

Do you feel it is your school's responsibility to help prepare you for the boards? (and what is your schools position on this)?

Must resist...temptation to vote...🙂

What-you only like starting them? 😀

Med school prepares you to be a doctor. Kaplan preps you for the USMLE.

I feel our school gives us adequate time to prepared for Step I, plus we have an ample lending library of review materials and a student led review course to cover areas that we think would be high yield or that we need another pass on after the regular curriculum.

I agree with BlondeCookie that the school's primary job is to make us doctors. But, I think the only outside resources that should be used are books and Q-bank. I hate the whole test-prep industry that drains so much money from neurotic professional students.

I don't think that my school did a good job of preparing us for Step 1, but we had enough time (almost 6 weeks) to study for it. On the other hand, I felt like they did a great job preparing us for Step 2 (we have a very good clinical experience at our school, plus, we take the Shelf exams). I only had to study for about 12 days for Step 2 and I rocked it.

i don't think 6 weeks is enough.
pharm is almost impossible to memorize. all those drugs! like memorizing SAT vocab words all over again...

Hopkins does an excellent job of preparing us both for the wards and for the boards. 👍

I didn't want to vote on account of not being in med school :^)
