isnt there a difference btwn LDA vs EtO-?

I always thought LDA was bulky base so it would attack the H of the least substituted Carbon, but destroyer shows that C2H5O-+Na does the same (ie: problem 85 & 123 of 2008 version)?

Isnt C2H5O- (aka EtO-) a smaller base so it attacks more substituted carbons😕
