Hi

Took the NS FL1 and had some confusion with the anode vs cathode of isoelectric focusing. I got the question wrong because I thought that the side of the gel that connected to the negative side of the battery is the anode (pH 14) and vice versa for the cathode but I am backwards and having trouble understanding why. Any clarification as to why would be greatly appreciated so I can understand as opposed to just trying to memorize that it is the opposite of galvanic cells

see screenshot for schematic i am referring to

Thanks
