I currently work for a group of physicians and I constantly see the issues they face every day such as not receiving reimbursement, insurance companies, high overhead, etc. I recently had a conversation with a surgeon and he said that he feels pressure to leave his practice just for the weekend. I have thought about the pros and cons of becoming a doc but with the issues they face today....I am starting to question the process. Can anyone relate?

I can definately relate. I did an internship with a surgeon and his own partners in his group kept dumping medicaid and uninsured patients on him and it was a big hassle for him. But he still loved his job and didn't let it bother him, he was really inspiring. Also, I had another doctor tell me flat out "don't be a doctor!!!" I think it's good to see the bad with the good. It would be awful to be halfway through med school before you realized all the cons to being a doctor, you know?
