It is recommended to not include in your personal statement why you are qualified for medicine?

How do ADCOMS feel about omitting that part?

I just focused on experiences and why I want to be a doctor. I don't feel discussing why I am qualified for medicine really fits that narrative and it may take away my main message.

Anyone here decide not to include the part about why you think you are qualified?

I am not an adcom, but I feel like the purpose of the PS is to answer the following questions 1). why do you want to be a doctor, 2). what makes you qualified, 3). what are your career goals/interests.

Ideally, it's all one big theme, and your experiences and activities should inform and influence all 3 of those things.

So in my opinion, to omit that part would not be wise.

Like overtly stating "I am empathetic, intelligent and sooo hawt thus medicine should be grateful for having me"? I wouldn't write it directly. Hopefully while reading through your description of your experiences, adcoms would be able to realize what a sweet, charming, passionate person you are even without you directly stating why you're a good fit for the medicine. Quoting my advisor...show, don't tell. In any case, you're an applicant and not 'qualified' for medicine..at least not yet.
