AND I AM SO EXCITED!

Leaving to drive to the MCAT in 22 minutes. Should be there an hour early and then all I have to do is take the test. I have never been so excited to take a test in my life!

By the way, for those folks working full time, I took a half day on Thursday and Friday and I think it made a world of difference. I was not trying to catch up on sleep last night but maintain. If you can do that, I recommend it!

Good luck 🙂

Best of luck to you. Please relay the experience when you get done if you don't mind.

I am glad I was so excited when I started because by the end of it I was :bang::help:
As many before me has said, "it is not a feel good test". I am just hoping I did well enough to not have to do it again. Not much I can do about it now!

As I was writing the above, my doorbell rang and I was presented with a basket of chocolate 😍. Apparently my parents had an idea about how I was going to feel after the test...

Awww, perhaps I'm overly emotional tonight but that is so sweet it almost made me tear up! Congrats on getting that HUGE hurdle done!

Duuuuuuude, I feel you. I wanted to cry after that test today and I am so not a crying person. I'd been doing so well on the practice AAMCs that I wasn't worried too much about the real thing, but this was a completely different beast. The BS was evil, just plain evil.

Anywhos, I also hope I did well enough to not need a re-take. Here's to hoping together!

I also did very well on my practice tests, went into the test feeling confident, and left feeling like it kicked my butt. Try not to worry about it too much, though. A month later, I found out I actually kicked the MCAT's butt, hitting my practice average exactly.

Best of luck to you guys who just took it! And relax! 🙂

I gave myself a day to wallow and now I'm ok with how it turned out. It is what it is and nothing I can do about it at this point. So no need to worry anymore.

Thanks for the reassurance and vote of confidence, Cinclus!

Well congratulations in that it is over. Just try to control what you can. Get the rest of your application finished. I know I know... easier said than done. That's why I'm sayin it!! 🙂 I'm sure if you prepared, and you were happy with your practice exams, everything will be fine. Please update with your results when they come in if you don't mind. (If good, I'll have a beer with you. If bad, well, I'll still have a beer with you 😉)

Congrats on finishing a huge milestone in your application! Now just distract yourself from the wait by working on your AMCAS 🙂

Yeah...absolutely need to be distracted. I did pretty well until about 2PM then I felt that sinking feeling like "oh dear god, what if I have to take it again?"

But worked on my personal statement, got caught up on my favorite shows, watched a couple of movies, took the dog for a walk, finished reading a book...and put off cleaning the house until tomorrow! As we say at work, "everything will be just fiiiiinnnnneeeee".

I think I am going to go start a new book!

An update now that the scores are in...

People are totally correct when they say your score will be better than you think it'll be! I was praying for a score over 30 when I walked out of that exam, and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my actual score a couple days ago.

I am so glad this part of the process is over!!!

I hope the MCAT gods were as kind to excitedtoapply as they were to me.

That was very kind. My scores are right on my average. I was really hoping for one point higher in PS but my score is right on the average for my top choice school too. One thing I can say for sure, I am not taking them again this year and unless told I need to, will never!

I am glad your test went well and send my best wishes to all others who sat and will sit through that very long test.
