depends how badly you did the first time through, whether you think you can improve, and what subjects they were in.

Below a C in a pre-req - retake. You need a B or (preferably) A on the retake.

It won't however remove the blemish completely as come AMCAS time your GPA is calculated based on all courses taken, no matter how many time you took them, so poor grades are included.
 
I've heard a C in the core premed classes. I don't know man, just remember there are a lot of smart kids out there.
