When are you guys planning on moving to wherever you're going to school? Also, is it a good idea to bring a car? There was a suggestion from a school that said it was best NOT to bring a car, but I can't think of why it would be so bad to have one, especially since I'll be moving from CA to IA, and how am I going to get around without my own reliable transportation? 😕
Is anybody going to do any traveling in the months ahead?

I'm guessing you are going to DMU next year. I would say bring a car is fine. Number one, DMU has plenty of parking. I park there several times a week and never have to look for a space for more than a minute. The campus is nice and small, as I'm sure you saw, so you really don't have to worry about walking for 20 minutes to get to class. Des Moines traffic is ranked as having the best rush hour traffic among cities its size, with a average rush hour wait of 11 minutes. Des Moines is a very easy city to have a car in, bring the car.

As far as moving, I'm probably going to be in Chicago next year and I'm thinking I will move a few weeks before classes. That will give be a enough time to get the apartment set, but not so much that I will go crazy being without a job or classes. Sure, there is lots to do in Chicago, but not when you need to save your money!
