As the title says, I have a 32O (11 BS, 11 VR, 10 BS) mcat and a 3.9 gpa both c and s. Here are my other specs and info.
Resident: MN
Undergrad: University of North Dakota
ECs
-member of my schools undergrad med assoc. 3 yrs.- we perform a lot of community service type projects and is the a big portion of my PS
-played and was captain of my intramural football, hockey, and basketball teams for 3 yrs
-was a practice patient for medical school student exams (worked all physical exam types as well as patient history exams. gave a unique perspective on how med students are trained) 3 yrs
-worked for my hometown highway department for 1 summer for 40 hrs a week
-Chemistry TA for one semester
-medical school proctor trainer and case study experience participant for about 30 hours- we trained in the facilitators by acting as med students trying to diagnose a patient with a condition while they helped us. I was the lead student 3 times.
-Radiology tech shadowing 30 hrs
-one summer (30 hrs/wk) as an ophthalmic assistant. assisted on patient procedures, helped consent patients, etc. huge impact on me and an integral part of my PS
-radiologist shadowing-30 hrs
-observed several surgeries-5hrs
-worked in a lab doing diabetes research for the last school year and continued that this summer as a full time job. no pubs yet but a poster in the works and pubs in the future (already have the starts of it written)
-Faculty Marshal at my college's last grad (academic honor given to top students in junior class)
-Dean's list and Presidents honor roll all my semesters
Sorry for the lengthy list and everything but here are the schools I'm looking at.
Stanford- big reach but I still want to app here just to say I tried
Northwestern-another big reach but again I want to try
U Michigan- another reach but I love the area
U Minnesota TC and Duluth
Mayo
Ohio State
Boston University
U of Iowa
Medical College of Wisc
Oregon Health and Sciences- I know its a reach but also love the area here
Virginia Tech- my undergrad school has connections here
U of North Dakota-I'm from the area by UND as well as attending undergrad here
Penn State
George Wash
Rosalind Franklin
Tulane
Temple
U Vermont
