My contract with sprint doesn't end until 2011.

i am happy with my current phone.

Shall I buy iTOUCH or BLACKBERRY/ANDROID/PDA ?

I wanna take THANKSGIVING advantage to buy cheap iTOUCH

The iPod touch is similar to the iPhone with the exception that the iPod touch has no phone, no way to connect to the internet without a wifi signal and no way to send/receive text messages. It also doesn't have a monthly bill attached

If you don't need the always on connectivity of the iPhone get the iPod touch, if you need constant internet access get the iPod touch.

I tend to think the Apple's products have more applications available for them

I can recieve/send text messages on my regular phone.

Hospitals don't have wifi?

If they have, then I can use that on ipod touch.

If software has all info needed, then how much is need for wifi?

Wifi in the hospitals... depends on the hospital. Most apps on the iPod touch/iPhone store the info on the device but only use wifi to update the info

Problem is many hospitals have wifi that requires authentication or some kind of agreement to use by a pop up page. So push notification won't work after you put the iPod Touch to sleep without first turning the thing on and agreeing to be able to use the internet. So IMs may not work that well if you want to receive in real time while not using the iPod Touch.

There's no such thing as an iTouch.

If you're talking about the iPod Touch then no, it's not a phone.

Couple things you need to do:

1) Check and see if the hospitals you are rotating at have WiFi. If they don't then, an iPod Touch won't be useful for browsing the Internet and checking e-mail.

2) Check and see if the hospitals you are rotating at have cell phone signal. Check multiple carriers. Since hospitals are rather dense buildings, there may be signal on one floor, but none on another.

Other than that, most medical software on the App Store doesn't require an Internet connection. Developers are smart enough to know that hospitals don't always offer an internet connection, so most data is stored locally (that's what my app does).
