I'm a sophomore. I haven't taken ochem yet or biology, since I switched majors. I'm finishing my last gchem now.
I don't know much about the DAT, having chosen to focus on current classes, instead. I'm starting to get a little antsy over the timing of this thing, now.

1- Is there a deadline for taking it?
2- I'm planning to take ochem 1 and bio 1 this summer. Summer classes are notorious at my school for being short and sweet. I'll get a good grade, but should I push it back until fall to learn the material better?
3- Working off of question 2, I've been under the assumption that I'll be able to make up anything that the professor didn't cover with quality study materials or reading the textbook more thoroughly. Is this a good assumption?
4- Are you serious? No calculator? Not even a friggin Walgreen's special?
5- Having looked over other threads, I believe that I won't be able to apply to d-schools until my senior year due to these complications. Am I correct?

Thank you in advance for not making fun of this newbie! 🙂

1. No, but I wouldn't suggest taking it any later than August.
I think you know yourself a lot better than us so you can answer 2 and 3 yourself.
4. No calculator, period. So it would be good to brush up on your math skills.
5. I am assuming you won't have your prereqs finished by the time you apply? That is OK as long as you finish them before you matriculate.

Good luck!

Unfortunately I have to close this thread because inappropriate language is being used. If you didn't receive the answer you would have liked feel free to bring it up in discussion again.
