So, I recently finished my p2 year and I have decided that I want to do a residency (for sure now). The problem is I have not worked since before pharmacy school (CVS) started and this summer I failed to find an internship. So, ive been applying all over the place; mostly hospital pharmacies but only 2 places interviewed me and they did not not call back 🙁. My gpa isnt too bad 3.3ish but the experience is lacking. Anyone have any recommendations for what I should do in my next 2 months of summer? I just really do not want to be stuck doing retail-its really not for me.

If you can't find a job then consider volunteer work. It can be in a hospital pharmacy, rural health center, or anywhere. Just do something. Time spent not doing anything looks worse than work unrelated to pharmacy.

My hospital has a lot of volunteers. There is always someone volunteering. You might be able to get a job that way. We don't hire any interns. We just have techs that will become interns. They don't post jobs anymore. You just have to know someone and by volunteering, you will get to know the pharmacists who might know something. It's a long shot, but better than nothing.
