Well im a junior an i transferred to a harder school this fall. Its been a very very rough transition. Totally had to adjust my study habbits an everything. Well as of now my gpa is a 3.01. After this semester i dont even know. I feel like im gonna get a C- in every stinkin class. Its very sucky becuase it looks like i slacked off when instead i killed myself. Good news is im getting use to it but its so late! Not sure what too do at this point becuase im applying this summer🙁

I would transfer back to the easier school, unless you feel like you are learning the material a lot better at this school then stick it out and you should do better on the DAT. However, a C- is like a 2.0 GPA so you will need to try to do a little better than that.

I disagree that you should transfer back if you are happy where you are. Dental school will be tough and you will be challenged like you are now or maybe even moreso. It will be good training. If worse comes to worst you can do a post bac and try to inflate your application. Happy studying and good luck. A GPA in the low 3s can at times be salvaged by DAT scores over 21 or so.

you still have finals if at least you're sort of getting the handle of things...
like this week my ochem class had a killer lab quiz thinking the semester will soon be over... only to discover from our syllabus that we still have half of the points for the course hanging on the line...
and i heard that professors do consider an improvement in grades, especially for the final cause it's comprehensive and if you do well on it, then they know that you at least got to know the material before the class ended... cause my g-chem prof first semester told us he actually gives out A's if they make a solid A on the final regardless of their grades throughout the semester...

Im just gonna haul butt till the end of the semester, i have my last ochem test monday befor the final. Postbach work may be the way to go for me. I that you should take thesis based. Also what are the odds of actually getting in when doing postbach work?

Hey I was in your shoes.

I transferred from UC Davis to UC Berkeley. Waayyyyy Harder. My Avg gpa at UCD was close to 4.0, not anymore. I don't regret it, but i became really motivated and met great ppl and professors here.

I got 2.7 GPA in my second semester at Cal due to C+ in Biochem and B-, B in other classes, but that was it. It gave me a painful realization that I need to study hard. well of course, divorce and financial problem gave me stress at the same time, but next semester I pulled my semester gpa to 3.6. One semester shouldn't look that bad... I think. Especially if you are on quarter system, then you are luckkyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... semester is just wackkk. Everyone has to go thru transition, right?

oh, and does anyone know if d-schools take account that a student *transferred* from easy 4 year college to another?
