I already submitted both AMCAS and AACOMAS!!! I am currently "under review" in AMCAS, and "Processing" in AACOMAS... SUPER EXCITED!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

damn. i need to finish one class which will be done in the next week (guided independent study) and wait for my transcript and 5-21-11 MCAT score, but I will be rocking this cycle with you all.

Wow. Where does the time go? Just wanna say good luck to all you 2016ers 😍. Looking forward to hearing good news (and lots of insanity) as the months roll by.

:xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:!!!!

You might already know what I'm about to say and it might not matter for you, but to other people out there:

You can send transcripts even if you have other classes pending. For an independent study class, is that pass/no pass? I wouldn't wait to send transcripts just to have a P/NP class included.

And of course, MCAT scores can be updated later if you tell AMCAS that there's another score (or your first score) coming.

no i took the spring semester a couple of guided independent study. i actually have 2 semesters to complete them, well i finished all but this one because it is a spring class, i figured it would look really fishy to have all but one done. and like i said, the class should be done within a week so i should have the transcript available within 2-3 weeks. still pretty friggin early.

Send in your transcript now so that you can submit your app and get it verified, then send in an updated transcript later. A delay of 1 week will result in a delay of maybe 2 or 3 weeks later.

Best of luck guys. I'm a non-trad 4th year med student and it still feels like my application cycle was...well, a million years ago, but I do remember that it was an interesting time. If you're traveling, make the most of it and check out the local environs - most of my interviews I treated like mini-vacations, it was a lot of fun for the most part.

Good luck everyone :luck: I honestly cannot believe it's been a year since us 15'ers applied!

Submitted AMCAS this AM but one of my schools (because there are like 5) didn't send my transcript until the 27th (so it probably got there today) and they're still updating the ones they received on the 25th- so slow!
But yes, they're not submitting to schools until the 17th so we won't be too delayed.
I'm excited and nervous! Still waiting for my MCAT score too!

I can hardly believe that the dreams of a child born on a hot summer day in 1984 are beginning to unfold!!

Best wishes :luck: to everyone applying for the entering class of 2012 😍!!!!!!

Getting ready to hit the Submit button latest by this Friday.
Have ordered the transcipts - AMCAS is still to receive them - should be there in a week's time.
They have all but one of my LORs - the committe is working on that now.
Have my MCAT score ready.
Doing final proof reading of my application.

Finally, the time has come!!!!

Submitted yesterday morning. App is currently "ready for review." I'll be adding schools in the next couple weeks. Hopefully it won't be a big deal that I have a couple more classes to finish before having pre-reqs complete. I've got a 4.0 in all pre-reqs so far and solid MCAT. Just hope an acceptance decision won't be delayed or affected because of a school wanting to see the results on one or two pre-reqs.

So ready to submit - just fine tuning now. Super excited- long time coming 🙂

Good luck all!

I'm also going to give it a shot this cycle! But my first MCAT is scheduled for 6/16 (so if that turns out diastrous, I 'll have to pass!), and have given my letter writers 'til end of August to turn in the LOR's. I know one writer will be away next month for the full month.
Should I bother submitting applications via AMCAS this early? At this point, the only things I have ready are my transcripts and essays.

I'm finishing up my last quarter of ochem and biology this quarter. I'm on a quarter system so my transcripts won't be posted until last week of June. I'm concerned that if I request my transcript to be sent to AMCAS the last week of june, it might take a few weeks before AMCAS marks it as received, which means I won't be submitting until second to third week of July which means I won't be verified until first or second week of August.

I'm cool with sending my transcripts now without my last quarter of bio/ochem (and listing those as in progress/future classes on AMCAS) and then sending an update to schools... I'm just not sure how to go about sending the transcript update.

Thanks!

Generally, one would update schools by individually sending to them manually-written, informal (in that you would NOT send actual transcripts or other supporting documentation) letters. It's usually done as part of a strategy to "poke" schools you haven't heard from in awhile, to demonstrate a continuing interest. Have a peek through the Google literature on the subject for some past discussion.

AACOMAS in....AMCAS should be in by Tuesday at the latest, however, I will have to wait for my MCAT scores in order to be complete...hoping to get some secondaries from schools that minimally screen before the MCAT score goes up.

If you do this do you need to send an updated transcript to every school you applied to individually?

I had one school tell me "Do not send us updated transcripts, we already know that you are smart" I had another school that put my application on hold, post-interview, until they got the last transcript. This is school specific.

Sending the updated transcript to AMCAS is exactly like sending it the first time. If you see the application appear in your attachments, but the classes didn't get updated, then give them a call and they will send a request and get it fixed.

When was your MCAT? Since AMCAS doesn't send to schools until 6/17, you aren't significantly behind anyone. The screening application schools are not likely to send out secondary requests in mid-June.
