It's Time to Get Recognized

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
part of me would resent if a large contingent of people who supposedly chose DO for the same reasons suddenly switched over to get my degree too. part of me thinks if you choose a DO-granting school instead of an MD-granting school, you can't change your mind later and get the MD.

The problem is most of the proponents of the degree change didn't "chose" to go DO, but they had no other choice because they couldn't get into an MD school. The only way I will acknowledge that there are students who truly want to change the degree for the better of medicine is if they present me with a copy of an acceptance to both MD and DO schools and ended up choosing the DO school. Otherwise, I will continue to assume that the vocal minority who are so hell bent on changing the degree want to do so because of their own personal insecurities and regrets that they will never have suceeded down the path they wish they did. This assumption is based on the fact that after multiple threads, thread closings, and arguments, still no one has told me how changing the letters will allow me to save more lives or receive a better education, and become a better physician. Afterall, this is the reason we all went into medicine, correct?

(I am a DO student myself)

The other day at work, me and a couple of our DO attendings ordered tacos and chips and salsa from Torchy's for delivery. No MD's were included in our order. The revolution has begun.

Yeah, but I'll bet when the taco devliery guy delivered your tacos he didn't treat the DO attendings with the same respect he would've given to an MD.
