A couple of older threads state that PBL is only a minor part of the IU curriculum. However, the only part of the entire curriculum the IU website mentions is the PBL(inferring its the priority). If PBL is minor, what is the rest of the curriculum? Anybody know where I can find a breakdown with hours, etc. Thanks!

Currently we are scheduled for about only 6 hours of pbl time a week (usually only there max. 4 hours a week)... and then we are supposed to research stuff for each meeting time (but this can usually be done within an hour or so). In all I say its about 20% of the curriculum with the other time spent in lecture/lab. Some people take it more seriously than others (but if you interview at IU talk about how you love working in small groups and collaborating with others!)

The curriculum should be up online... just look for it under schedule

PS. we are in the process of phasing out PBL bc our new dean is awesome and thinks PBL is a joke (which it is).

But seriously, PBL sucks but its not a reason I would pay higher tuition to go out of state. And, IU is a great school in general and wouldn't be a reason to not come to IU from out of state.
