I just got a letter from Indiana Dental School inviting me to the interview. It also states that if I accept the invitation, I must complete Physiology and Anatomy requirement by July 2005.

My question is if I can give them this promise and only take those classes after being accepted? Or I have to complete the requirement and then IUSD sends me acceptance?

The way the message is worded leads me to believe that they will grant you an interview and your acceptance, should they extend it to you, will be conditional on your completion of the anatomy course. Think of it as a contractual agreement (they're not going to sue you if you don't take the A&P class) in which you acknowledge that, yes, you must have taken it prior to July 2005 and matriculation into their dental school.

IUSD and its requirements with Anatony and Biochem... this school exceeds the average requirements for a Dental School. They might be encouraging other schools to do the same.

i was in the same position as you last year. i got the same thing. here is what happens.

you go to your interview. let say you get accepted, then all they want you to do is meet their requirements. for me, i was only missing anatomy so i took it during the SPRING semester. i took anatomy only. i am not sure exactly what you are asking. basically, they just want you to meet their requirements thats all. make sure you can take it next semester and are done with it before July.

I can also confirm that they told me the same thing, and gave me the understanding that "as long as its completed prior to the time of enrollment" it would be fine.

Right on the money, Jaxx. You'll be required to submit updated transcripts as you complete your coursework, to prove you've finished all the necessary prereqs.

Thanks all of you guys for the help 👍 I just called IUSD and they told me the same thing.

Now, would any IUSD student like to share what that school is famous for and why it was your choice to become their student? Also, what is their program like? As far as I know, IUSD is heavily based on clinical experience. Does it start right of the first year on after DS3?
