Does anyone know of a paper that studied how long IV bags are considered sterile? Not bags wrapped up in storage in a fluid cart, but ones actually hooked up to a patient.

You're talking about setting a room up, like for trauma, with the bags already spiked? My residency hospital had a policy of 24 hours. But for some reason I want to say up to 4 days. I don't have the data to back it up.
