So I know it's still around the midpoint of the app cycle and maybe my fears are ungrounded, but I'm still worried. This is my second time around (granted I'm doing better, only got one interview last year), but since my interviews I've only heard silence...if you can hear silence...we'll just say I haven't heard anything. I'm starting to have nightmares of multiple rejections and or low ranked waitlists coming in again. Anyway, just wondering how people deal with coming up empty on yet another cycle. I was pretty discouraged at the end of last year, and may find my motivation severely lacking if I'd have to go through all of this again.

With six interviews, I'd say you're doing pretty well so far, no? Or are pre-meds hearing from those schools already?

I think part of it is getting psyched out by a lot of the sdners with stories of people getting six or seven interviews and those turning into all waitlists. But yeah people have already started getting acceptances to the schools.

With six interviews your going to really have to drop the ball not to get in, not that its a guarantee. Just remember it only takes one.

Yeah, don't let the SDN pre-med neuroses get to you! 🙂 Easier said than done, I know.

Sometimes I wander into Pre-Allo and even I am freaked out over there. And it's been 7+ years since I was applying.

I know exactly what you were/are feeling. Until last Thur I either had not heard back from interviews or had waitlists and 1 post-interview rejection. Have you sent any updates to the schools you have interviewed at already especially since a semester is over you could at least send grades. Also did these schools tell you when to expect a decision? If they told you and you haven't heard back yet I would call to inquire about why you haven't heard from them post-interview.

The schools never specifically said when they would be getting back, so it's pretty open ended I'm guessing. There isn't much to update on my end either as I've already graduated and all. People say that I'm in a good position with the number of interviews I've had, which may be true, but it's just tough as I've been through all of this and am worried about the prospect of going through it all again.

For those schools that you have interviewed, why don't you send them a letter of interest. Don't sit waiting for them to get back to you...let them know that you are interested.

Remember, it is the holidays right now and many schools may just be closed until after New Years. It's not over until it is over and it is still early. Those 6 schools saw something in your application to invite you for an interview...don't give up!

dd I think you'll get in this time [good luck!]. But if you happen not to, I'd consider retaking the MCAT. Your app looks beautiful minus the 8Verbal.

appreciate it, hopefully you're right! 🙂
