IVs and gowns - ASC rewuirement?

To my colleagues who perform injections in an ASC:

1. Are there any rules to put in an IV? Think B&B epidurals.
2. What about a gown?

The reason I ask is because I’ve done injections in a both clinic and asc. A patient recently went to another asc and said basically everyone had to change and get an IV and asked me if this was the law. I thought this was overkill but the law may not care what I think …

No, there are no requirements at the state level or CMS level.

It is just the culture at that ASC and the docs have checked out to let nursing admin control everything. They probably put them in gowns since they are doing the injections in the OR and you can’t have street clothes. But scrubs worn from home are completely different and not a problem.
