The General Practice Residency program at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx has an opening for a first year resident/PGY-1 starting on July 1, 2025. The Department of Dentistry has a long history of providing dental postgraduate training including advanced programs in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, dental public health and dental anesthesia. Jacobi is a level one trauma center and serves a diverse patient population. The program provides a broad range of experiences in both clinical and didactic education.
The year provides a substantial and varied clinical experience. Residents will treat a wide variety of patients and provide all aspects of comprehensive dentistry including rotary endodontics, implant restoration and placement, removable and fixed prosthodontics(including All on X restorations), perio surgery, and simple and advanced oral surgery. The clinics have computerized charting, record keeping and appointments and digital radiographs including pan/cephsand CBCT. Each resident works with a dental assistant.
Didactically, the program consists of daily lectures on a wide range of topics, teaching rounds, case conferences and journal clubs.
Applicants will be graduating from a CODA approved dental school and be ready for to start the program on July 1, 2025 and be prepared to attend orientation in the end of June.
