When I applied, I got a last minute invite for a January interview but I don't precisely remember when I received it--it was definitely late, however, so it was likely very early January or very late December. It was obvious that I was a second-tier list, or even third-tier list, as people had been writing about receiving invites from this program for a while before I got mine. I could have squashed in the interview but would have been exhausted, so it was one of two that I did not go on.
At the time, it was not considered a top program given its age, size, and location.
