who is applying for 2008 with a Jan MCAT score??

Will it be a retake from this summer?

Hey! Why did you decide to take it so late? I have to re-take because of an awful Aug 20th score =(

Did u contact schools regarding if the score would be too late? also, are you going to send it secondaries before taking it?

I plan on retaking in January if I haven't been accepted anywhere by then. My July 13 MCAT score was not great but I have not told schools I plan on retaking because I don't want my app put on hold until then. I am in the process of submitting all the secondaries I have received.

what if adcoms see a really bad MCAT score and decide not to give you an interview right away and discard your application? Wouldn't it be better to let them know that you are planning to re-take so they put it to the side until those scores come out?

This is what schools are telling me. Because once they see a grade and decide to reject it, they usually don't go back to it...

what do you guys things? Would you put "re-take" in your secondaries, knowing that there may be a chance you are rejected with them not keeping your file on hold?

Better to be put on hold than rejected.

I really don't want to automatically be put on hold until February. I don't think my MCAT score is that horrible that everyone will reject me outright. I have other strengths that hopefully will make up for it a little.
