Hello! I'm supposed to retake the Naplex in January. Has anyone taken it in January using 2016 study materials? I was just curious if it would be sufficient to use the materials I already have. Thanks.

I took the exam in August and then again the last week of December and to me Rxprep was not enough for the new exam. I did use prontopass math which had harder math questions but I skipped some of the harder ones I wish I would have done all of them. First time I used only rxprep the second time I used passnaplex now, board vitals, rxprep book and prontopass math cards. The passnaplexnow helped me to identify drugs associated with disease states quickly so on the exam I could use process of elimination and it highlights the side effects pretty good but Fluids chapter is good at pointing out what drugs are compatible with what. I did pass but I had to use multiple sources.Compounding...maybe the new book is better on that subject. Good luck!

I took the exam in August and then again the last week of December and to me Rxprep was not enough for the new exam. I was thinking the new exam was going to be just like the old one but just more questions. It's not. The questions are harder/more in depth. The math was harder than rxprep well I had a lot of tpn questions that were not in rxprep. I did use prontopass math which had harder math questions but I skipped some of the harder ones bc I wasnt thinking they were going to be on the exam since the math on the old version was much easier. I wish I would have done all of them. First time I used only rxprep the second time I used passnaplex now, board vitals, rxprep book and prontopass math cards. The passnaplexnow helped me to identify drugs associated with disease states quickly so on the exam I could use process of elimination and it highlights the side effects pretty good but on the exam almost all of my SE questions were select all that apply. Fluids chapter is good at pointing out what drugs are compatible with what. I did pass but I had to use multiple sources.Compounding much harder on new format not sure what can actually help with those since they can't be found in rxprep 2016 version maybe the new book is better on that subject. Good luck!
Did you feel like Board Vitals helped at all? I've been doing those questions for a while and my exam is coming up soon. I also have both PassNaplexNow and RxPrep. I have the compounding cards from ProntoPass MPJE that are helpful as well.

Board Vitals did help for those uncommon/ small chapters disease states. It helped me to know 1st and 2nd line treatment

Okay, thank you! And did you feel like your NAPLEX score reflected your scores on BoardVitals or was your score higher/lower?

I can't really say bc I wasn't really concerned about my score on board vitals so I don't remember them that well. I more so was trying to learn treatment options and side effects. Some of the test on board vitals I took not knowing hardly anything about the disease state but that's how I leaned it from the questions. Once I got to the exam I was able to quickly identify the answers

Thank you for the information . Congrats on passing! What I'm doing differently from last time is using the Rx prep question bank. Did you also use that for practice questions?
Did you feel like there were a lot
Of math word problems that did not correlate with equations in Rx prep?

I used rxprep quiz bank the 1st time. I'm not to sure I used it correctly meaning I was more so remembering questions and answers not really pulling important info out. Some other ppl that I know used the question bank and did well
