You can save all your messages as a txt file. There's an option at the bottom of the PM page... That will help clean up your PM box....

it's located on the bottom right of the Private Message page. the option is above the forum jump tab. I hope that helps.....seriously.... 😉

EDIT: You can choose how you want to save the file...I prefer text (.txt) b/c it will open up in WORD...
