Jeff Bezos says his advice to Amazon interns and execs is to stop aiming for work-life 'balance' — here’s what you should strive for instead

This is hilarious to anybody who knows Amazon people. They work the same relentless schedule as every other big tech company, maybe worse.

As a solo doc my work-life is already circular but one of the things I like about outpatient practice is no weekends/nights/holidays. I think this bright line is very important for my sanity

This is the biggest thing I've noticed going back to 100% pain for the past 2 months, from a 50/50 anesthesia/pain job. Yes, I work the same schedule every day, with no early days or post-call days off, but the answer to "can I have a beer on Saturday afternoon" is always and emphatically yes.

Also, the Bezos quote in the OP sounds just nebulous enough to be corporate speak for "we're your family! now, come on in and have fun with your family this Saturday!"
