We stand on the precipice of a radical transformation of government as we know it. R’s have been given a mandate to govern and reinvent our society. How will this impact pain physicians?

There isn’t any political faction willing to publicly stand up for the interests of doctors. And our public image is in the dumps right now. I’d bet on no significant deviation from our profession’s steady decline.

However, it’s not impossible one of Trump’s iconoclast buddies, who isn’t afraid of entities like the insurance industry, becomes aware of the nonsense we deal with. Which is a better chance than we’ve had in a long time.

I unfortunately agreed to this to the T, hopeful for Positive change for the first time in a long time, but not holding my breath

unfortunately, it is more likely that such entities are the insurance industry.

trump is transactional. insurance companies with lots of $$$ have the cache to get in to meet with him. regardless of what you think of our income, physicians are not in this group.

and going against private (sic free market) industry is not in the mindset of the rich buddies of trump.

Which would be business as usual, so I’m not holding my breath.

To give an example of a scenario that’s far-fetched, but now within the realm of possibility, Elon might form a strong opinion on the plight of the modern physician by hanging out with neurosurgeons for Neuralink.
