Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you guys are from jeffereson. I am gonna start my CA-1 in 2006, however due to some family issues would like to take 6 months to a year off. I dont know how the program is gonna react if i tell them now? who would be the best person in the program to contact? other option would be to start the program and tell them after few months? any one from that program knows if someone has done this before. any help will be appreciated.

I will also be a CA1 at Jeff in 2006. From my point of view you should call Dr. McNulty or Dr. Grunwald immediately. Give them as much time as possible to fill your position with a desirable candidate and not a last minute fill-in. This would be the most appropriate way to help the program and your fellow residents. Life definitely throws a few curve-balls, but from my dealings with the program, I'm sure that if you let them know your situation in a timely manner they will do their best to come to a reasonable acommadation.

Best of luck,

-B
