Need money quickly

Exactly why someone in that situation should think very carefully about having more children. I'm still stumped; apparently, one kid was just fine, but another is a full-blown crisis. I still think this person needs to do a review of their spending FIRST before making any career moves.

We have one adult child. One of my rare regrets is that she does not have a sibling. Some things are more important than money.

Apparently this is third round for this person, so again, if you can barely afford a third, maybe not risk it until you can?

What would you all say is a decent offer for GA market? What is a decent call ratio, supervision ratio, other things that you would make sure to address prior to signing any contract? I'm a pain guy looking at coming back to the OR.

I am looking midwest. Just trying to get a general sense of what are good offers and what aren't.

Way too general. Be more specific of job you’re looking for and you’ll get better answers. Solo, supervision, academic, outpatient only, partnership track, hospital employee, AMC, ob, high acuity?

I can’t answer to the Midwest pay range, ask people in the place you’re looking. I would say if it’s a hospital employed/AMC/employee model have the call/hours/overtime spelled out in the contract, if it’s not in your contract assume it’s something you’re going to get run over on. I’ve said it on here before, I applied for a hospital employed job: salaried, 45hrs a week, when I ask about overtime after those hours they said it ‘hopefully’ wouldn’t happen, they would also not change the contract for pay if it happened. If youre applying for that type of model have everything spelled out in the contract. If its private practice you’ll have to be more flexible and ask around, depending on what you’re looking for I would say ask to start as 0.8fte, nowadays work is abundant, I told my friend that who joined a PP gig and she said it was the best advice, they tried to pressure her to join as one FTE but now she has flexibility and a newborn, you can usually pick up more work easily but most markets it’s hard to ask for time off
