JHU and rejection after acceptance

All right, well, I hope I'm not alone in being extremely neurotic but I got a call last Thursday from Paul White at Hopkins who congratulated me on getting in. I was so excited, I said some silly things--nothing offensive AT ALL, I'm sure, but I definitely sounded a little kooky. Anyway, so he told me they were going to mail letters the following day (Friday), and here we are on Thursday and I still haven't received the letter--any chance he decided not to send me one b/c of my telephone idiocy? Opinions? Happy Holidays everyone...

the great thing about sdn is that you can edit your post and delete it so if you have an irrational moment there is an opportunity to rectify it; anyway, congrats on jhu...

Okay, geez, yes, I am neurotic. NO I was not trying to brag about my acceptances and if you'd like to hear about all my rejections, I'd be happy to post those. Honestly--I'm surprised with how often people post "what are my chances?" and "I have a 3.9 and a 42, but have never opened a free clinic: will I get in?" threads that people would be so intolerant about my worrying about this. For those who were so offended by my thread, you have my sincerest apologies. For everyone who responded sincerely, I appreciate it. I wish everyone luck in this sometimes extremely disconcerting process.

Ha, you sound like me. My husband said I sounded like a howler monkey when I got the phone call. It took at least 10 days for the letter to arrive--I was concerned, too, as I had figured someone in admissions had screwed up by letting me in 😉 so I was nervous that they would figure it out before I had something in writing.

Relax, the letter is coming. And congratulations!

Please do not worry. It took two weeks for my letter to arrive after the phone call and it was not doring the holiday season. Congrats on getting in!!! 👍
