  1. Pre-Optometry
Please help!- I am attending optometry school in the fall and am trying to decide where to work until then. I've worked as a technician for a year at a disease referral site where I learned a lot about the eye, but I had to move. Now I am wondering if I should take a job offered at an optometrist's office as a technician/front office worker, or work at another disease site with a retinal specialist, where I will also get to observe injections and surgeries. Any advice to which will be more beneficial to my fututre? Thanks!

I think it may depend on where you intend to practice once you graduate. If you think you may want to go into private practice someday, it may be beneficial to work in an office environment and get a feel for how things are run. Also, it never hurts to get some extra experience interacting with patients.
The job at the disease site sounds pretty cool, especially since you would get to spend time observing injections and surgeries. But since you've already worked in an environment like this, I say it would be good to branch out a bit and go for the office job.
