Just need to think out loud and see what others might do in my situation. Currently, I work full-time and am about to start working a weekend job. My full-time job hours are horrible (45+ hours/week), and there's just so much negativity at work. Yesterday, I was tempted to resign, but didn't. As of right now, I plan on keeping my full-time hours and work the weekend job. Am I crazy to not see if I can change my hours to be part-time? It's mostly because of wanting that job security that I said I'd stay full-time. If I could quit, I really would...my work-life balance is seriously skewed towards work (and no life).

That's a lot of hours. I would say look for full time jobs and quit when you land one (I know that's easier said than done).

It should get easier to do with this weekend job, assuming you're diversifying your experience.

45 hrs isn't bad. I've done 60 plus for a couple weeks straight. But I guess it depends on the workload.

Depends on workload, yes, but doing it a few weeks is way different than every week too. I did a 74 hour week a while ago, but the extra shifts were filling in at a slower store, so I didn't mind. If you told me my normal schedule was to do that every week, I would go insane. When you work a lot, you sacrifice quite a bit. You don't have time cook so your diet suffers, you probably are missing some sleep, missing exercise, missing social functions, no time to unwind.

Think about what sort of schedule you'll get if you go part time. You might end up with a similar schedule or even more than what you have right now since you'll be working 2 jobs rather than 1 full time. Also you could end up losing benefits as a part timer.

Losing benefits isn't something I'm worried about since I can go on my husband's health insurance. Ever since I started working, I gained back the weight I lost (and then some more) because I don't have time to cook. I've been averaging 45-50 hours/week ever since I started this job, so it's definitely been wearing on me.

I think I know what I want to do, but just waiting for that right opportunity.
