I have several externships (practices where I am considering employment) and I feel a bit lost. I want to make sure that I ask the right questions and can negotiate a competitive contract offer. I also want a clinic that has strong mentorship/doesn't "throw me to the wolves." I am looking at small animal GP.

Does anyone have any good resources for this that they used when looking for an offer? It can be online, people to talk to, informational videos, etc.

I’d definitely talk to the techs. Do they feel over worked? What do they think of the doctors? I’d also ask the hiring manager the compensation options are. Straight salary? Salary + quarterly or yearly bonus? Salary + production, purely production, etc. Theoretically, you should be earning 20-25% of whatever you bring in.
