I am a pre-med student from Central Florida in my Junior year of college. I was homeschooled all my life, before making the transition to the community college. I just attended my first year at university and though I am a Junior, I have two more years of undergrad due to prerequisites not attained at the community college. Also due to first having attended the community college, the only major science/math classes I have taken include: Chemistry 1 & 2, Biology 1 & 2, Genetics, Statistics, and Calculus. Of those classes, only chemistry and biology had accompanying labs.
This brings me to the heart of my question, I would love to work in a lab for the rest of my undergraduate life. Growing up homeschooled, we had a microscope at the house which I would "play" with for hours. The labs which I have taken at college/university were always my favorite part of the week. I know I don't have much experience, but even if it was a position where I mainly cleaned and observed while gaining experience, I would be so grateful for the opportunity. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could make this possible? Including any classes you would recommend I take soon that would help me with this goal.
Thank you much for your time and any help you can offer!
Yours Sincerely,
Patch
