I don't know if your in the Greater Toronto Area but I am in the exact same position with step 1 before studying got hectic i got a job at a medical transport company. You drive around an ambulance and pick up patients that are otherwise immobile and take them to either another Hospital or a retirement home palliative care etc. Companies to look into are: spectrum, voyageur, Top medical(the one I worked with), etc. It was good experiences shifts are long you make a little more then minimum wage usually. Can't imagine it will help much on your resume but its fun and isn't retail or fast food so doesn't hurt to have it on your resume.
