I think you may be thinking about earning your Doctor of Pharmacy degree. You can earn a PhD in pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences (or other related fields). However, the latter degrees would not allow you to become a licensed pharmacist but would present you with more research oriented jobs.

Agreed. With those degrees, you will have a job similar to what I currently do with a pharmaceutical company. I synthesize molecules, develop formulations, develop methods for the analysis of the compounds for assay/impurities, etc. I collaborate with pharmacists for clinical trials, but I do not prescribe any of the drugs that are made at my company.

All of the OP's posts have been making threads along this line - jobs in pharmacology.

OP, please keep in mind that this is a forum for students pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD). While some people may know about pharmacology (PhD), you may be better off with other sources, if your questions have not been answered.
