I'm planning to start a jobs newsletter for ophthalmology and was hoping for some feedback from everyone here on what would be useful. The idea is very new so I'm flexible to big changes. This will probably be most helpful to residents and fellows but want others to be able to opt in. Some of this idea grew from frustration I heard from docs looking on the AAO job board this year and feeling some points were obfuscated like who actually owns the practice.

In short, it will be limited on new market info since it will probably be sent monthly. There's just not that much info to update on the job market on a monthly basis besides new jobs. Is there anything pertinent to the job market you would like to know about?

People tend to look for a few high-level things in jobs: multi-specialty practice, physician owned, high compensation, 4 day work week (or less), partnership, lasik, retina only. These filters would be selectable to see jobs tagged that way. Are there any other points you can think of that are helpful to include?

Maybe consider doing interviews with new hires (anonymously if needed) to give their perspective on their job search and/or first few months/years at their new position.

Same could be said for practices that have recently hired a new associate. May be a good way for others to learn what was done right (or wrong) during the process and how they can learn/avoid issues
