Hi there, i will be graduating ca3 this coming June and unfortunately still don't have a job. I am from the east coast and was trying to get into a west coast private practice gig, but unsuccessful. Now I'm calling hospitals, recruiters just trying to find something in the northeast. If anyone knows of places that might be hiring/looking for people, please PM me. Really appreciate it. Thanks..

Everyone in my graduating class - including myself - secured the job they wanted in the market they wanted, including two on the west coast. One colleague called to tell a firm that she was taking another job, and they offered her a $30k increase in her salary on the phone.

You are partially right, if the alternative to hiring you would be that I have to work harder or take more call then maybe I would consider hiring you, but you would be at the bottom of the list because you whine too much.

Well, equally why you should ask yourself if I'd work for you is similar, and it's evidence on this thread: general lack of in-depth, critical thinking.

You seem to have a pretty good grasp of basic anesthesiology, based on what I've read in your clinically-based posts. But, you continually demonstrate superficial thinking. Even here, one poster states that they're having trouble finding a job, then you extrapolate that into the job market must be changing.

Then, you make a statement about how you've interviewed quality candidates... but you're not really hiring.

I wouldn't want to work with someone who waste's my firm's time, as well as the time of candidates, if you're not really hiring. I've never understood why people would do this. You want to get some resumes into the HR file? Chances are that, if you interview and aren't going to hire... or are only thinking about hiring a potentially stellar candidate... that person is going to be long gone by the time you get around to making an offer.

Just doesn't make sense, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did to you.

Cop, a little constructive criticism if you are interested. This forum is a small example of your future if you continue this way, bashing everyone, trying to one up everyone, calling people stupid (superficial thinking). I know this is an anonymous forum but our personalities still come out in these forums and yours seems to be very abrasive, as does mine at times. If you continue this way you will find PP a difficult place for you or at lest more difficult than it needs to be. People here are turning on you every day. These are smart people and they have lots of education. They see through your smoke screen and they are calling you out. You can choose to accept this as your role, disregard this as a few peoples opinion, or criticize me personally as you have done many times before. Or you can learn from this in hopes of making your life easier. It's your choice. We could care less.

One final note, it doesn't matter how good of an anesthesiologist you are, if you are abrasive you will be cast aside. And remember, there is always someone smarter than you and better than you. It's just a fact.

In Copro's defense, sometimes internet forums bring out the worst in people. I've known quite a few people who were internet jerks but nice people in real life. Copro might just be a strongly opinionated person, but it comes across as overly aggressive on the internet.
