Have you ever met someone that you didn't think had their crap together or really was that smart, and then all of my sudden you find out they have a great GPA and pull off a 35+ on the MCAT? Anyone else feel like there are so many dang smart people out there, always twice as many as you think there are in the room?

I feel that way all the time in high-level theoretical math courses. Incredible cognitive skills.

There's different kinds of "smart." Some guys are beasts at complex physics concepts, some guys write amazing research papers in history, and some guys are good at turning their brains into phone books.

Guess which type of intelligence medical school rewards?

I'm guessing it's the last type you mentioned. So do you mean that once you get to med school, it's a clear slate? Those kids that seem to always have a leg up on you because of raw talent won't have that much of an advantage?

Talent means **** here, it's all about how much you go ham on the books.
