Is it possible to judge from the interview how it went? If your interview compliments you and tells you that it's a pleasure to meet you, would this mean acceptance? Or do they compliment everyone out of politeness?

All interviewers are going to say it was nice to meet you. Would you ever tell someone, "It wasn't nice to meet you?" Come on now.
that's the interview farewell that's worried me the most. if the interviewer liked me, i wouldn't need luck.no, they could say "good luck."that's the interview farewell that's worried me the most. if the interviewer liked me, i wouldn't need luck.

I agree that what your interviewer says to you has little to no bearing on the ultimate outcome.
